The Entrepreneur Experience with Amy Porterfield
I first discovered Amy Porterfield years ago when I was working at a desk job full-time, and I continued to follow her throughout the years as her business continued to grow and change. When I jumped into the realm of small business marketing, I decided to invest in her List Builder’s Society course. I loved it, learned from it, and grew as a result, so when she announced The Entrepreneur Experience, a conference for business owners just like me, I was all in. Add to that the fact that it was in San Diego – a dream city to visit! – and I booked my tickets and started to plan.
Now that I’m home, I can look back on the conference and say that it was worth every penny and every second I spent to get there (although I was SO ready to squeeze Willow again when I came home!). I have pages of notes and a whole lot of stuff to process - plus some REALLY exciting new projects! - but here are some of my biggest takeaways from all that happened.
San Diego is incredible, except for the prices! It really does have perfect weather, and it didn’t hurt that the actual conference happened in Coronado at Loews Coronado Bay Resort. What a dream venue!
Amy Porterfield and her team are not only incredible at what they do, they are also extremely kind, generous, and welcoming. The whole experience was top notch, from special gifts for the attendees to the fact that they stayed SO energetic through even the last minute, despite the exhaustion I’m sure they all felt. Amy is a gifted teacher and gave me so many practical takeaways, which I love.
My favorite speakers were Stu McLaren and Jasmine Star. I learned a ton about launching projects and social media, and I know you will see a lot of this implemented over the next year.
I made a big investment and signed up for Digital Course Academy. This was a tough decision to make for someone who agonizes over buying a $2 afternoon coffee, but Nathan’s encouragement and my belief in the program pushed me to sign up. I know it will be well worth the money and time.
Networking is not always my favorite thing. I LOVE meeting new people, especially other entrepreneurs, but it can feel surface-level, and I never want to build up fake relationships. The way we were able to network at this conference was amazing. Everyone was intentional, encouraging, and wanted to go deep. The first person I sat next to was from Virginia, amazingly enough, and we have big plans to keep each other accountable as we both embark on very different but very exciting ventures.
I am exhausted (taking a red-eye back from California after 4 jam-packed days will do that!) but ever so grateful that I had the time and money to invest in The Entrepreneur Experience. I learned so much, and I know that I have so much to learn - but thankfully, I have the tools to do just that. Here’s to big things and new beginnings…I can’t wait for what 2020 will bring!
